Overview

The Flin Flon "greenstone belt" of Manitoba and Saskatchewan is one of the most prospective areas in the world for volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) polymetallic deposits.

The Flin Flon belt is the largest paleoproterozoic VMS district in the world (Symes et al, 1999) and the richest Greenstone Belt in Canada per square kilometer (Franklin , 1995). Essentially, it is a smaller haystack with more needles!

More than 30 VMS deposits, rich in copper-zinc as well as gold and silver, have been discovered in this belt. Past production and current reserves of the Flin Flon Belt exceed 180 million tonnes of polymetallic mineralization since 1916 (a total of 27 mines).

All projects are located in close proximity to existing infrastructure including road and rail links, and operating concentrators in Flin Flon and Snow Lake , Manitoba.

Canada's HudBay Minerals (HBM-TSX) holds a dominant position in belt with mines and mills in both Flin Flon and Snow Lake and a base metal smelter in Flin Flon.

Murgor's Properties

Murgor now owns a 100% interests in the Hudvam and Wim deposits, acquired from Hudbay

1) Hudvam Deposit
43-101 (file size: 8.37 MB)

A gold-rich polymetallic deposit located 47 km NE of the Town of Flin Flon. An existing 250-metre ramp could be rehabilitated to accelerate the development of the deposit towards production. Metallurgical studies of the ore indicate that processing of the ore at the Flin Flon mill would result in excellent metal recoveries.

2) Wim Deposit
43-101 (file size: 5.15 MB)

Consisting of one large and continuous ore lens from near surface, located 17 km north of the Town of Snow Lake, the deposit has more than doubled in size through drilling in 2007 and 2008. The deposit is still open at depth. Metallurgical studies of the ore indicate processing of the ore at the Snow Lake mill would result in excellent metal recoveries.

3) Fon Deposit
43-101 (file size: 2.36 MB)

Murgor is earning a 100% interest from this large zinc deposit from HudBay Minerals. The Fon deposit consists of multiple ore lenses located 40 km west of the Town of Flin Flon. Murgor is currently working to increase the high-grade tonnage of this deposit, and is evaluating the open-pit potential of the upper part of the deposit.
